First things first. They’re holding a contest where you can submit your ride and win a t-shirt or other prizes. They’re accepting entries until August 22, 2007 that 5:00 PM Pacific standard time.  Time is of the essence so hurry on this one or you’ll miss out.  It’s called “Ride of the Month.”

Once you submit your picture, it will be voted on by the public.  Online voting will take place from August 22 through August 31. Then, it’s time to stay glued to your e-mail to see if you’re a winner. They’re going to choose the top three entries so break out your wax, polish it up, and take a great picture.

While some of us are working on our American build ride, there are a lot of of other people out there that are modifying these four and six cylinder imports to attain some awesome horsepower.  I am talking 1000 horsepower and greater. Just amazing for a little engine that.  My 2005 Vette gets 405 Horses and I have become quite accustomed to it so I can see why they want to fix these imports up.

One of the best areas to check out on the site is there section dedicated to improving power for your import entitled “Power Pages“.  These pages are dedicated to Increasing Import Horsepower.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution article, written by scott Tsuneishi, features a modified Mitsubishi attaining 298 horsepower. The site also features pros and cons of such a setup. Not only do they have statistics and Dyno runs for this ride, but they also have recommendations and advice moving forward.

Another cool article I read was about planning your fuel system. This article features what you need to know to plan your fuel system and how to do it properly the first time.

It’s a common fact that to get more power to your engine you’ll need more air. Further, you’ll need a tuned fuel-to-air-ratio to maximize the horsepower of your engine.

If you’re running a stock setup for your import, don’t bother with fuel management.  But if you’re really serious about the performance of your engine, you’re going to need an aftermarket engine management solution.  It’s important to buy the properly sized injectors because failure to do so will cause your engine to run lean as you approach the physical limitations of your injectors.
This could lead to a blown engine or worse not that I can imagine anything worse than a blown engine.

The bottom line is this: if you’re gonna put bigger injectors on your car you’re going to need a aftermarket fuel management system .
Importtuner.com is a well organized niche site dedicated to improving the performance of your Import car.
